Born in Tel Aviv, Ariel Tagar is a photographer and a musician. Tagar studied photography at the University of the Arts London and worked as photojournalist. He lived in the UK for a number of years where he began a prolific career as an electronic music producer working under the name ‘Kalbata’. Ariel’s work has always been deeply rooted in underground culture, both in the form of cutting edge music and imagery. His film, ‘Congo Beat The Drum’ is a documentary film shot in Jamaica and Tel Aviv. A musical journey following the recording of his album with forgotten reggae artists from the past.
